Newcastle Blasters’ medium pace bowler Isabella Bliss could not stop smiling this week after commencing her tournament with a memorable hat-trick.

The Warners Bay High School student proved pivotal in her side’s opening eight wicket victory against Hunter Valley with 3/3 off two overs.

Ultimately, she was one of 100 top junior cricketers to hone their craft at Singleton this week.

“First ball I got an LBW which was pretty plumb, quite full,” Bliss, 13, explained.

“Second ball was bowled on off stump and third was on leg side, all of them were quite full.”

Newcastle will finish the tournament by playing off against North Coast this morning at 10am.

“It would be very good to win the tournament.”
