Ruby Brochtrup may not have won a medal in Sydney.
Nevertheless Aberdeen’s rising star was all smiles after competing at the NSW Little Athletics State Track and Field Championship last week.
Brochtrup recorded 3.95m in the Girls under-12 Long Jump competition to finish 19th in her category.
“All the kids that I work with that don’t have access to big facility training did very well,” Singleton Striders coach Hilary Kennedy explained.
“Many of them missed out on training due to lock down and then isolations and then floods.
“She did very well and I was so proud of her and now she has a big winter ahead because she is a gun footballer.”
