The local Art Fair at Pokolbin Hall over the long weekend proved to be such a success that the event will be back on the June long weekend and October long weekend next year.
EVENT organisers and local artists, Kim Lundy and Suellyn Connolly couldn’t have been happier with both the weather and the turnout at their first ever art fair at Pokolbin Community Hall.
Kim was ecstatic that even with covid monitoring and number limitations, they had more than 100 people through by 10 am on Sunday Morning with a good mix of locals and those spending the weekend away in the Vineyards. An impressive 37 local artists came to exhibit their works from paintings, to drawings, jewellery and more.
At just 17-years-old, local artist Molly Lennon was beaming having sold plenty of original works across the weekend and being commissioned for quite a few pet portraits. Sky Gardiner and Nick Biddle could be found soaking up the sun in the outdoor area with plenty of bright summery canvases ready to take home. Paul Tayler who had art lessons for a year as a child decided to pick up the brush a mere three-months ago and shared the verandah display with fellow artist Patricia Cooke from Paynes Crossing. Apart from a fantastic turnout of artists other talent included live music and of course like any true Hunter Valley event, great coffee and food on the lawn.
