Josh, Michael, Jack, Sally and Greg and the team from Warrior Disability Service are encouraging the community to join them on Thursday September 14 for a free community barbecue for R U OK Day

Are You Okay?

This simple question will be the centre of conversation at a community barbecue Warrior Disability Service will be hosting next week.

“It’s important that we raise awareness for these kinds of days because we’ve obviously  seen a lot of people struggle with mental health, not only our participants, but families as well and it’s very important to lean on each other and have good connections and good community around,” Warrior Disability Service director of participant services Sally Pereina said.

“We also want to show our warriors about community events and what they mean and what they mean to other people and that other people are going through struggles.”

R U OK Day is about starting meaningful conversations to help when someone you know or connect with is struggling.

Sally is encouraging anyone from the community to come along, have a free sausage and chat in a fun and welcoming environment.

The barbecue will be at the new Sustainability Hub, 127 Sydney Street Muswellbrook, on Thursday September 14 from 11.30am to 1.30pm.
