Big decisions for students

SHARE THE STORY:

Big decisions are in the process of being made at Singleton High School.

Year 10 students are now deciding what subjects they will study for their Higher School Certificate in Years 11 and 12.

Even this process has been affected by covid.

Traditionally parents have had the opportunity to talk to teachers about choices but this year, that information is being provided to parents via zoom videos.

In the meantime, students received a crash course in what the expectations are of each course from the practical projects to the essay requirement.

Students were told it was important to get a good range of subject requirement with a steady balance of practical and theory.

The school is offering 45 electives and allocations will be determined in coming weeks.

While the teachers spruiked the opportunities that each course offered, it is also a time for students to consider where their study may lead them.
