SHARE THE STORY:

It has been a horrific week for the Upper Hunter.

Hunter Valley Police District officers have confirmed they have found the body of a 25-year-old woman in the Coolah Tops National Park.

The woman was last seen in the Merriwa area at about 1pm on Saturday September 6th.

When she couldn’t be found or located, officers were notified and commenced inquiries.

Police received some information earlier this week and commenced a coordinated search of bushland involving officers from the Orana Mid Western Police District, Police Rescue, the Dog Squad, NSW Ambulance Paramedics, Volunteer Rescue Association, SES, and the Rural Fire Service helicopter.

Sadly at about 3:30pm yesterday the body of a woman believed to be that of the missing 25-year-old was found.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

There aren’t believed to be any suspicious circumstances. If you or someone you know needs assistance call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
