Maisie Harper, Isabelle Chenery and Jace Cox enjoy competing with Singleton Mountain Bike

What an amazing day Singleton Mountain Bike Club had at the Pioneer Trails Mountain Bike Park for Round 5 of the cross-country race series held on August 24.

A total of 58 riders lined up, the second biggest turnout of the year. The Men’s A-Grade field was one of the largest seen. The atmosphere was buzzing right from the start line, and the racing didn’t disappoint.

The track held up beautifully despite all the recent rain.

Riders were treated to the best of both worlds: fast and dry sections mixed with a few tacky spots that kept things technical and exciting. Plenty of bar-to-bar battles played out across all grades, with riders pushing hard right until the 70-minute finish mark.

After the race, there were comments that Pioneer Trails might be the best XC race trail in Australia – high praise for a truly fantastic venue.
