Twenty backpacks, 50 filled pencil cases and 280 notebooks have been supplied to Singleton High thanks to a $1000 donation from Dolly’s Charity Shop.
Dolly’s Charity Shop has a mandate to support Singleton youth and supporting students in their learning is a priority for the shop’s operator Gary Holland.
“This is why we are here, to support young people and I am so happy to be supporting the students at Singleton High,” Mr Holland said.
The items will be shared among a number of students at the school and provided discretely to those needing the equipment.
Principal Jo Scott said there were students struggling to have the basics after the impacts of covid last year.
“We are a strong believer in that no student should miss out and that all students are treated equally and we thank Gary and his volunteers for their generosity in supporting our students,” Ms Scott said.
Meanwhile, Mr Holland said any youth organisations needing support should contact the shop located in George Street, Singleton.
