Daniel Storey, hotel group manager for McNamara Hotel Group, will oversee the newly acquired Eatons Hotel in Muswellbrook through renovations and reopening.

Muswellbrook’s Eatons Hotel has changed hands with the new owners, McNamara Hotel Group, getting the keys last week.

The iconic pub will be closed for a few months while renovations are being done to update the accommodation and do some general maintenance throughout, but hotel group manager Daniel Storey said they are looking forward to offering the community a family friendly pub.

“It’ll mainly just be cosmetics, carpeting, most of it’s in pretty good order as it had some renovations done in the late 90s,” he said when discussing what work will take place.

“A family approach is what we’ll do, we are investigating getting a bit of a playground into the back area.”

They will be embracing the good-sized kitchen and dining area and plan on making sure guests can enjoy quality pub food at a decent price once they reopen.

“We do try to make it a family friendly environment, we want to make it affordable to bring a family out, obviously cheaper kids’ meals and cheaper pub food,” Daniel shared.

“We like to target ourselves as a venue that families come along regularly, rather than a\just special occasions.”

McNamara Hotel Group owns the Albion and Horse and Jockey hotels in Singleton, Lochinvar Hotel and the Miller Park Hotel in Branxton.

They are preparing to reopen another Hunter pub, the River Royal Inn in Morpeth, that has had a full renovation after the previous owners retired earlier this year.
