Lambs Valley’s Rara Russell and Singleton’s Georgia Dunn were fan favourites at Coffs Harbour this month.

The two smallest members of the Hunter Country Youth Girls 15 squad inspired their side to a 5-0 start before finishing the AFL Northern NSW Championships with a draw against Hunter Metro. Yet few were aware of their back story.

Russell, who plays for the Maitland Saints, was flooded-in with her family at Lambs Valley in the week leading up to the tournament.

MEANWHILE Dunn, who plays for the Singleton Roosters, was pictured with her mother Sarah, brother Luke and fellow Roosters Ashley and Jessica Borg filling sandbags that same week for the Singleton SES unit to help prevent further flood damage to properties. Both were in high spirits throughout the tournament.
