Singleton teenager Seren Hall has continued to shine after returning from the Little Athletics NSW State Track and Field Championships with five medals on Sunday.
The 13-year-old talent also broke an additional two state records and she then backed up her efforts by competing in the Singleton High School’s 4km cross country final the following day.
“Seren won five medals and broke two state records, so she now holds five state records,” Singleton Track and Field Club president and coach Hilary Kennedy told The Hunter River Times.
Hall, who is a T/F38 classified athlete, secured three silver and two bronze medals across her five multi-class events (100m, 200m, Long Jump, Shot Put and Discuss).
This added to her three medals (one silver, two bronze) from the previous year.
She also showcased great resilience in the 200m which had to rerun due to a malfunction with the photo finish machine.
Although it was a challenge she recorded a time of 36.44 seconds in her second run and then claimed a personal best throw of 14.35m in the Discus competition. She was proud of her grit and determination.
Interestingly, she had the best result in several of these categories however was denied gold medals as other competitors with a T44/F classification recorded a higher percentage.
Her Singleton teammate Ethan Williams also returned home with two gold medals while Jordie Brown added to his previous medals with a coveted silver in the hurdles competition.
