Players share the courts

BY DI SNEDDON

Basketball and netball players are enjoying some new space on the Karoola Park  after Muswellbrook Council invested in two new high quality courts.

The two codes are more than happy to share the space which is innovative in that one of the two courts features a reversible goal post which is exactly what basketballers have been asking for.

NSW Building Stronger Country Communities fund contributed $184,000 and Muswellbrook Council $50,841 to the project which also includes new fencing and landscaping.

Training has resumed for groups of 20 with local netballers happy to be back on the courts developing skills.

Covid lockdown saw any formal training cease however a number of players used the trip to the courts to exercise.

Needless to say the news that the juniors could return to the training fell on delighted ears.
