She has won just about everything on offer.

Now local golfer Jasmin Vesper hopes to add the title of Tradecore Industries Singleton Junior Open champion to her long list of achievements in nine days’ time.

“I’m hoping to win this one,” Vesper told The Hunter River Times this week.

“If I do not win, I always try to finish in the top five or ten for my age group depending on what competition I am in.

“I try my best in all tournaments to beat my goals and do well.”

The 16-year-old was unavailable last year as Hamish Ellison and Piper Hollis won the respective boys and girls titles.

This year $3500 worth of prizes are on offer and Vesper will enter as one of the favourites following a superb ‘Out of ISO Golf Day’ victory earlier this month.

“I played pretty well, it was a good day that came really easy and was going really well,” she reflected.

“I went to two-under then I had a few bogeys and a double on 17 so I finished on one-over but it was still a really good round that came easy to me.

“If I didn’t win that day, I probably would have been very disappointed with myself.”

Though she will face a high calibre of opponents on this occasion (including Maddison Butterfield and Quedesha Golledge) her practise will also be increased.

“My practise regime will definitely be full on with a minimum two hours on the range, chipping and putting,” she concluded.

“I just have to go into it with a positive mindset and practise the way I should be right.”

IN OTHER NEWS the Bowers Heavy Haulage Singleton Open has been postponed due to the region’s heavy rainfall on Saturday night.

MEANWHILE Corey Lamb has defended his Branxton Open title with his four-under six strokes clear of runner-up Steve Piggot.

Last year Lamb took out the NSW Junior Championship just one week after landing the Queensland Boys Amateur title.
