Businesses celebrate milestones

Singleton businesses, The Eye Place and Valley Kids Co, both shared milestones in business this month.
The Eye Place is celebrating its fifth year in business while Valley Kids Co. is having its first birthday.
Adam Maher from The Eye Place said his first year in business was when John Street was undergoing its facelift and pedestrian access was limited.
Those challenges are nothing on what Holly Radmacher is facing in her first year of business with the continued threat of covid.
Holly said while she hasn’t had as many customers walk through her door, she has certainly engaged with a whole new clientele via her online sales.
Both Adam and Holly say it is their customers that give them the inspiration to continue to operate a successful business.
It is also recognising a need.
Adam, for example, decided he wanted to be an optometrist when he was in year 7 after experiencing the relief and gratitude of wearing glasses for the first time and actually being able to see.
