Three wins to go

The Singleton Netball Association’s Opens side is only three games away from glory.

The line-up finished first overall in their division at Regional League last week and will now travel to Port Stephens this evening to play off in the finals.

At 6:35pm Singleton will playoff against the Wyong (17s) team in the semi-final, the only side to defeat them so far this season.

Wyong celebrated a 24-17 victory over Singleton last month before fortunes were reversed at Rose Point Park last week when the home side won 20-17.

If successful, Singleton will then play the winner of Charlestown (15s) and Newcastle (15s) in tonight’s preliminary final set for 7:45pm.

The grand final will then take place at 8:55pm.

“We have been given the all clear to play but there were concerns earlier in the month due to Covid-19 cases near Port Stephens,” Singleton Netball Association spokesperson Carley Vaughan told The Hunter River Times this week.
