Chad’s title for the family

Chad Vesper claimed his third Singleton Club Championship title on Sunday.

The popular and well-respected golfer, who added the feat to his previous titles in 2016 and 2018, entered Saturday’s third round with a four-shot lead.

“I hope to get the win, I’m nervous going in but we will see what happens,” he told The Hunter Rivers Times last Friday.

However, his motivation was a little bit different on this occasion.

“My daughter Jasmine won the women’s title earlier this year, so my aim was to have our name on both boards for 2020,” he explained.

“I’m not sure if the men’s winner and women’s winner have been in the same family in the same year so it could be the case if all goes well.”

His finals rounds of 73 and 76 saw him finish with 295 while Murray Considine finished runner up following an exciting playoff round with teenager Ethan Van Zyl.

2020 Bowers Heavy Haulage Singleton Open winner Matthew Dicks finished fourth while Andy Campbell, Shannon Bluhm and Owen Evans finished equal fifth.

Tony Rock finished as the B-Grade champion ahead of Wayne Chandler, Jamie Bennett, Shaun Paget and Stu Leggett while David Stuart stood tall in C-Grade.
