Klook helps rebuild wine industry

If you are a wine fanatic hoping to return to Pokolbin in the near future, there is a new term to memorise.
Klook.
An activities and experiences booking platform, Klook is helping the wine industry get back on its feet and adapt to the changes brought on by the pandemic.
Gone are the days of turning up at a winery and wandering in for a quick tipple; wine tastings must now be pre-booked.
It is Klook’s mission to make pre-booking a wine tasting as quick and easy as ordering an Uber.
“We’re thrilled to launch wine tastings on the Klook platform,” Jonathan Williams (Marketing Director Australia and New Zealand for Klook) said.
“It’s great for travellers who can now pre-plan their trip to maximise their getaway, and it’s great for the wineries who can now better allocate resources and create a safer environment for guests.”
Klook now has more than 25 instantly bookable wine tastings live on their site, with more than 10 of these tastings available for just $1 with the promo code ‘WINETIME’.
“We thought that there should not be a price barrier for someone who wants to try something new for the first time,” he added.
They hosted a handful of wine journalists from Sydney earlier this month ahead of Klook’s strictly limited ‘Taste of Europe’ tours with the final one to take place later this month.
“It has been a very lovely day and we have had a great group up from Sydney who are food, wine and travel journalists,” Amy Cooper (CEO of the Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association) said.
“Klook is working closely with Destination NSW to support the new change with cellar doors for moving online with planned bookings for tastings.
“I really think that they are trying to showcase some of the iconic experiences for the Hunter Valley and really familiarise them with what makes the Hunter Valley unique.”
