Activities in Full Swing at Ourcare

There are some places where friends are like family and that is exactly the atmosphere at Ourcare’s Activity Centre.

Each day the centre opens its doors to clients who enjoy the social interaction as much as the activities themselves.

According to activity centre assistant Michele Ferrie, the centre’s closure as a result of covid restrictions was difficult for the clients and when the doors were able to be open again, they were all reunited and activities hit full swing.

There is always something happening to keep the activities challenging and interesting.

In addition to cooking, art and craft, the group also embarks on outings from time to time.

They have been extremely pleased to see news of the return of Singleton Show and are already planning their entries in the art and craft section.

The Social Support Group operates in the Active Lifestyle Centre and provides activities to frail older people, designed to develop, maintain or support the capacity for independent living and social interaction, which are conducted in a day centre setting.
It is also a chance for clients to enjoy a social experience which in turn, givers their carers a break from the usual routine.
