Academic Success Opens New Opportunities

Singleton High School’s Sam Harrison, Kayla Maloney and Rachael Waugh were presented with Academic Excellence Scholarships from Glencore as 2020 Year 12 graduates celebrated their achievements with excitement of future endeavours.

Sam is studying property economics at UTS hoping to pursue a career in rural real estate.  Kayla will study architecture at Newcastle University and Rachael  has started a Bachelor of Early Childhood and primary Education at Newcastle Uni and hopes to be a primary school teacher on graduation.

The year 12 Excellence Assembly last term brought the students back to the school so their HSC results could be celebrated.

Other outstanding performances were:

Elena Bagnell and Ashley Cadman:  Top marks in PDHPE and studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Canberra Uni.

Georgia Cuttriss:  Above 400 marks in HSC and studying a Bachelor of Primary Education at Newcastle Uni.

Blake Eveleigh: Top marks in biology and studying a Bachelor of Information Technology with a major in system management at Newcastle Uni.

Amy Fellowes: School Dux achiving a band six in four units of study and studying a Bachelor of Social Work at Newcastle Uni.

Braedon Messenger:  Band 6 in earth and environmental science and scoring more than 400 marks in HSC.  Braedon intends to explore his study options in 2022.

Isabelle Miller: Above 400 marks in overall HSC and excellent results in community and family studies and visual arts. Isabelle is studying a Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in English.

Sadie Pankhurst:  Excellent results in Visual Arts.  Sadie is studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in Environmentalism at Southern Cross Uni.

Jackson Shade:  Above 400 marks in English, advanced maths, PDHPE, electrotechnology and biology.  Jackson is studying a degree in electrical and electronic engineering at Newcastle Uni.

Anika Smith:  Above 400 marks in HSC.  Anika plans to study health and science related course in 2022.

Zoe Tudor:  Achieving band six in biology and plans to study bio medical science at Wollongong Uni in 2022.

Lexie Wholert:  Excellent Results in Community and Family Studies.  Lexis is studying a Bachelor in Primary Education at Newcastle Uni.
