Scone lands Country Championships Wildcard

The Scone Race Club is thrilled to announce that it has been selected to host the 2022 Country Championship wildcard heat on Sunday March 20, 2022.
This will be the second time Scone has hosted the Wildcard heat, which is the last chance for owners and trainers to qualify their horse for the $500,000 final held at Randwick two weeks later.
“The club is a buzz to secure the hosting rights to the 2022 Country Championships Wildcard. This is an event that the community of Scone alongside the racing industry will support and make one of the great days on the racing calendar,” club CEO Steven Keene said.
“The Country Championship series is an amazing addition to the racing landscape since the inception in 2015 with owners and trainers planning for this series months in advance. It means a great deal to the club to be once again a host venue and we will be making sure that there will be something for everyone on this day.” The club would like to congratulate the Muswellbrook Race Club on the high standard they set as the hosts of the previous Wildcard heats, and the Scone Race Club looks forward to using them as a benchmark moving forward.
