Four local representative netball teams represented the Upper with class last weekend.

Here is how our three local associations faired at the 2022 HART Senior State titles held at Campbelltown.

SINGLETON

The Singleton Netball Association participated in this year’s Division 3 under-17 and impressed many onlookers with opening wins over Forbes (22-9) and Great Lakes (17-12).

As the three-day tournament continued the Singleton side’s winning record expanded to 5-2 and then 9-3 by the time the line-up defeated fellow Upper Hunter outfit Scone (16-7).

Singleton would finish ninth out of the 20 teams with a final 10-9 record.

“We are so very proud of our under 17’s who competed at the NSW Senior State Titles,” Singleton Netball Assocation president Alex Bailey told The Hunter River Times.

“Coming into the weekend we had injuries, a reshuffle and limited game time together as a team, but the players showed some amazing resilience and skilful netball to finish ninth.

“Congratulations girls, you certainly did Singleton proud and a thank you to Bulga Civil Earthmoving for their support.”

MUSWELLBROOK

An incredible 8-0 start saw the Muswellbrook team go on to finish fourth on the table in the Division 3 under-15 competition.

Arguably the most memorable win took place on Saturday afternoon when holding off neighbour Scone 16-13 in a thrilling clash.

SCONE

The Scone Netball Association was well represented by two teams.

At under-17 level, the line-up bounced back from their defeat to Singleton to climb to eighth spot on the table thanks to late wins against Casino (24-14) and Forbes (19-10).

MEAHWILE the under-15 side finished sixth in the under-15 competition with an impressive 13-5 record.
