Local trio ready for NSW Country selectors

Three Singleton juniors will make their way to Blacktown this Saturday.

Talented trio Leo Fragar, Douglas Manning and Kaleb McConnell have been selected in the 46-member Country NSW squad for trial matches which will take place across four games this weekend.

There the players will be split into two teams where they will showcase their skills, strength and game sense before selectors who have the unenviable task of naming a final 23-member squad by Wednesday.

“It is pleasing to see three of our junior members have made it through to NSW Country level and potentially head towards NSW selection,” Singleton Bulls’ junior president David Page explained.

This final line-up will take on the NSW City side at Bathurst on Saturday, July 30 for the Tim Gavin Shield while the under-14 girls will playoff for the Positive Rugby Foundation Plate.

“This is a stepping stone towards playing for the Waratahs or the Wallabies,” McConnell added.

“It is a huge relief that we actually made it in after all these years,” Manning revealed.
