Brickheads young and old will be treated to a display to admire and inspire when they visit Upper Hunter Brickfest next month.
The event first came to Muswellbrook in 2017, and since then Phil Joy has found his calling travelling around the state displaying at a range of shows.
“We’ve got a big variety of Lego back from the 70s up, right up to now,” Phil said when discussing what will be on display.
“Most of it is ones that people make themselves, they are called mocks, they’re the ones that a lot of people will do, some people do displays from sets as well.
“There’s new products always coming out with Lego, because of that a lot of the new stuff will be on display.”
The return to Muswellbrook will also include a free play area that will allow kids to let their imaginations flow after spending time perusing the displays.
Muswellbrook Hospital Auxiliary will be the charity partner for the event, with proceeds from ticket sales being donated to their fundraising efforts.
“It’s a local event, and we like to support local areas so we choose charity partners which the whole town can benefit from, hence the auxiliary,” Phil said.
“Scouts will be there with a barbecue feeding the masses and will benefit from it as well.”
Upper Hunter Brickfest will be at the Muswellbrook Indoor Sports Centre on Sunday, October 19, from 10am to 4pm, entry is $10 for anyone three and older, or a family of four pass is $35. Purchase tickets online at www.trybooking.com/DATHM
“As they say on the boxes of Lego, from one to 99, but we welcome anyone over 100 as well,” Phil concluded with a laugh.
