“In the world of rotary, you either ‘evolve’ or ‘dissolve’ and we will ‘evolve’.”

Those were the proud words from incoming Rotary Club of Singleton Sunrise president Stacy Munzenberger who addressed her members at the club’s fourth changeover.

A group of 35 gathered at the Singleton Diggers‘ Alroy Park complex last Sunday for the group’s annual presentation.

“The last few months have been difficult for most however we have all embraced our zoom meetings and we were still able to commit to our Mother’s Day packages at the local nursing homes,” she announced last Sunday.

“Rotary’s theme over the next 12 months is ‘Rotary opens doors’.

“The theme aims to create opportunities to strengthen leadership, put service ideas into action and improve the lives of those in need; and this is what we will do.”

As a member of the club since its inception in March, 2016, the new president admitted she was proud of her members and what they had achieved over the years.

“We have reduced our numbers today due to the current circumstances within our community which I believe makes this a much more special and intimate afternoon,” she continued.

“We will also hope to continue to join forces with the Singleton Rotary Club and Singleton Hunter Rotary Club so that we can achieve more as Rotarians.

“We will also look to the future continually, reinvent ourselves and hope that new members will continue to join their clubs to the benefit of our community.

“To conclude with a quote from Paul Harris, ‘this is a changing world and we must prepare to change with it’.”
