Muswellbrook Cats search for senior coaches

The Muswellbrook Cats are seeking senior coaches for both their line-ups in 2021.

“The perfect candidate for each senior coaching position would be enthusiastic about the great game of AFL,” a club spokesperson told The Hunter River Times.

“They would need to have at least a basic understanding of AFL skills and game play and a love for getting involved in the community.”

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INVOLVED

– Develop and manage sessions for skills and strategy training, for both preseason and the home and away season

– Provide advice and instructions to individual players and the team in respect of fitness, development, skills, and tactics

– Coach the Senior Team during all home and away and finals games

– Provide strong leadership to the playing and coaching groups that encourages a supportive team environment consistent with the Club’s values

– Be an active member of the Muswellbrook Cats Committee, and be involved in all Club sanctioned events

To be successful in this role, the candidate should have:

– AFL Level 1 Coaching accreditation (or willing to undertake this at the Club’s expense)

– Previous experience as either an AFL coach or player

– The ability to teach and develop players at all levels of capability

– The ability and drive to recruit new players
