The doors to the indoor pool hall at the Muswellbrook Aquatic Centre opened last Friday after a long hiatus that stretched the patience of all those who love a dip.
Muswellbrook Mayor Steve Reynolds said he understood there has been a lot of frustration around the delay in the opening of the upgraded section of the centre and that he appreciated everyone’s patience.
“This had been a really challenging project, but I am excited to say that we are finally across the line and that the door is now open with free entry for all for one week and, I’m pleased to announce, free entry for two weeks of the September school holidays.
“Council hopes that this will compensate in some way for the project delays and give everyone the opportunity to experience this fantastic facility,” he said.
The 25m heated pool, Splash play area and heated therapy pool will be open:
- Monday to Friday – 6am – 7pm
- Saturday – 9am – 4pm
- Sunday 10am – 4pm
- The Fitness Centre will operate as usual
- The 50m outdoor pool is closed for the winter season
For those residents who have already hopped on board and taken advantage of the special opening membership offers and have joined the Aquatic Centre – memberships will be suspended for the free entry periods so as all can benefit from the free entry period.
An Official Opening and Community Open Day will be held on Saturday, September 17. Free entry for the school holiday period is from Monday, September 26 to Sunday October 9.
