Sally Jackson and Keith Googe from the Upper Hunter Show committee are excited to see the return of the Pavillion in 2026.

It was amazing to see how many people in the community noticed the lack of the Pavillion exhibit at the 2025 Upper Hunter Show.

The community will be please to know that it will be back on March 20 and 21, with Sally Jackson and Tiffany Hope at the helm.

“Friends encouraged me to do it, and I had a space in my calendar, so I thought, why not?,” Sally shared when discussing why she joined the committee.

“Because we didn’t have the Pavilion in 2025 we’re hoping to generate interest again and get people coming, so we’re looking for lots of new people who may have never been involved before, we want people that have been entering for years to still keep entering and just showcase all the fantastic talents that are in our area.”

The schedule will remain relatively unchanged from previous years, with a range of craft and cookery, photography and sewing categories.

One new addition has been made and that is the emotional support chickens, where entrants use a provided pattern to knit or sew a chicken. After the show they will be donated to local aged care facilities as companions for residents.

The return of the Pavillion is something show committee president Keith Googe is very glad to see happen, explaining that it is a requirement to be classed as an agricultural show.

“There’s quite a lot of interest with a number of helpers now putting up their hands and I can’t say whether that was because they saw that there was a big hole there last year not having it, but the interest in it has been quite astounding,” Keith said.

Muswellbrook Library has had a display from the Upper Hunter Show Pavillion in the foyer this month, and over coming weeks there will be similar displays in Denman, Murrurundi and Scone to help promote the event and hopefully attract more entries into the Pavillion.
