Michele Thomson was presented with her 20-year service badge at the September meeting of the Singleton Branch of the Australian Red Cross.

Michele commented that it was a surprise to have reached the milestone in an organisation she is proud to be associated with.

It was a big meeting for Michele who was elected to the vacant position of president at the meeting.

David Sanders was elected first vice president and Lyndsay Matthews second vice president while Chris Matthews is secretary and Lynne Mercer continuing on in her role as treasurer.

Ernie Kingdom was also invited to be patron of the branch along with Linda Frazer who is a current and continuing patron.

Ernie has been a long time supporter of branch events and was humbled to be invited to take on the role.

It is a busy time in the branch with members preparing for a two-day open garden event at the home of Kerriann and Andrew Shaddock at Old Crossing Road, Hambledon Hill, via Singleton on October 25 and 26.

There will also be a kids disco at York Street Diggers on November 23 from 2pm to 4pm to celebrate Trauma Teddy’s birthday.
