Singleton Striker Hayden Nicol capped off his fourth season as captain when named in the Northern League One team of the year on Friday.
He was joined in the coveted line-up by long time teammate and former captain Jackson Cox when the line-up was announced at the Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Toronto-Awaba’s Jarrad Hiles was named as the Northern League One coach of the year, a remarkable feat after he was promoted from the club’s under-18 coaching role in June last year.
Interestingly, Belmont-Swansea’s Cameron Lodge was named as player of the year, joining Nicol (2020) as a recent recipient.
Surprisingly, Lodge was not named in the team of the year.
