The Singleton Greyhounds will be playing two trial matches next month.
The Group 21 outfit will first travel to Kootingal on Saturday, March 11 to take on their pre-season rivals who finished third in last year’s Group 4 competition with a 12-4 winning record.
The Greyhounds will then play host to Gunnedah in all four grades on Saturday, March 25.
The trials will then be followed by the Scanlon Shield to be held at Scone on April 1.
“We are going to be training hard and hopefully everyone else is and numbers are good at all the clubs,” Singleton first grade coach Mark Newman told The Hunter River Times.
“We need everyone to be strong and make it a strong competition.
“The more people we can get playing football the better our competition is going to go and our aim this year is to catch the leaders.”
The Greyhounds have welcomed back former club juniors Brendan Williams, Blake Andrews and added former Penrith player Les Khan to the fold.
