Singleton Photo Centre will cease trading and close its doors on March 28.
It will be a sad day and neither owner Penny Shepherd nor her staff member Sue Laut want to think about it.
The pair have worked together for many years, sharing lots of laughter, trips to trade shows and formed so many wonderful relationships with loyal customers.
Gai Cookson first employed them when she ran a video store that turned into a gift shop and a place were photos could be printed in addition to customised framing. Both worked for Gai for more than 10 years before Gai retired and Penny opened her own store with everything but the videos 13 years ago.
Penny laughs that people refer to her and Sue as the ‘dynamic duo’ and they will miss seeing each other so regularly but economic pressures, an upcoming rent rise and a change in behaviour when it comes to printing photos has been cause for the decision.
“The thing is that people have so many photos but they are just on their phones, thousands of photos that they don’t get around to printing,” Penny said.
They have started a sale on their giftware and will be open until March 28 so if you want to get your photos printed, you had better do so soon.
