There have been a few more smiles around Muswellbrook in recent weeks thanks to the new Making Muswellbrook Campaign.

The Muswellbrook Chamber of Commerce program aims to give those doing a good job in the community a well-deserved pat on the back.

Latest recipients Warrior Disability Services were thrilled to receive the honour with participant services director Sally Pereira saying both staff and participants from the organisation were so surprised and excited to be recognised through the award program.

“Our Warriors really do feel like valued members of our community which gives us more confidence to keep striving to be the best we can be,” Ms Pereira said.

“Muswellbrook have some really amazing people within the community and local businesses who this could not be possible without their ongoing support.”

The  Making Muswellbrook program was initiated in January as a way to create some positivity in the community, to thank individuals, groups, organisations and businesses and to remind people that Muswellbrook really is a great place to live.

“We basically started the program and then we couldn’t do much because everything shut down so in the past month we have tried to the positivity back up again,” said Chamber member services manager Wayne Toms.

Recent recipients have been individual recognition to De-anne Douglas for her commitment and tireless efforts in supporting those less fortunate in the Muswellbrook community.

Domino’s Pizza Muswellbrook received Business Recognition  Award for supporting essential workers with complimentary meals during the COVID-19 crisis.

Muscle Creek Landcare Group received the Group Recognition for the revegetation and beautification of Muscle Creek for all the community to enjoy.
