JPC Gold celebrated a second grade T20 premiership on Friday night.
Openers Rodney Luxford and Steve Dunstan were the stars of the night when combining for a partnership of 87 runs.
Creeks fought back from that point, to restrict the line-up to a total of 114.
Though Creeks’ batsmen Chad Solman, Ashley Borg and Lucas Gentle all showed promise in the second innings, it would be JPC Gold who would prevail by 37 runs.
Dave Newman’s 4/11 with the ball proved to be the best individual T20 bowling performance by any second-grade player for the summer.
The victory marked Gregg Dann’s second premiership as captain while Josephine Pearce (2/18) and Siann Carman (1/11) celebrated their first premiership together.
Pearce has been playing with St George Sutherland while Carman has followed her pathway by representing Central North in the under-16 country championships.
“It feels great winning at grade level, we lost last year but we did win it at all day,” Pearce told The Hunter River Times.
Carman was all smiles after the final.
“It means so much to do it with Josephine, we now want that one day final win.”
