There is plenty on offer over the October long weekend but one event is all about raising money for kids with cancer.
The Drovers Camp Fundraiser is being coordinated by Olivia Ayscough who is passionate about supporting families with seriously ill children.
She first took part in the women’s only postie bike ride in April which is a major fund raiser for Wings4Kids after a friend suggested she join her in the 900km ride from Bathurst to Parkes.
She plans on joining the event again in 2026 but in the meantime wanted to do more to raise funds.
The Drovers Camp Fundraiser will see 50 per cent of the funds going directly to Wings4Kids and the remaining 50 percent shared between two Singleton families whose young children are undergoing cancer treatment.
It includes a postie bike ride that will leave Drovers Camp, located at 317 Elderslie Road, via Branxton, at 10am to head to Gresford, Dungog, Paterson, Rosebrook and finally back to Drovers Camp when all the fun gets underway with gates opening at 2pm.
There will be live music on Saturday and Sunday on a stage built in the bushland setting that creates a natural ampitheatre.
There will be bar facilities, loads of food that Drovers Camp is well known for, karaoke and live music and kids activities.
There is limited opportunity to also camp on site for those wanting to make a whole weekend out of the event.
This will be a cash only event and those wanting to drop in should bring a chair and/or picnic rug for comfort.
If you are interested in attending please text Neil on 0476 940 829, with your name and email.
