Ground at Muswellbrook and Singleton received an additional 2000 trees after hugely successful National Tree Day events in both towns.
Kids and young families dominated the volunteers who were put to work with spades in hand to plant the diverse selection of trees but it was the watering cans that captured the interest of the youngest.
Robinson Reserve at Singleton Heights was the focus of the planting in Singleton while Hyde Park Denman and Muscle Creek now have a fresh outlook with new native seedlings planted.
Muswellbrook Shire Council also supplied trees to Muswellbrook preschool, Goodstart Early Learning Centre and Denman Public School.
