Liam Moore’s 21st birthday came three days early.

The popular Upper Hunter District Cricket Association’s young gun celebrated his first century when posting 171 in the Bushrangers’ penultimate round win over Murrurundi.

“I just saw the ball good and smacked them around a bit,” Moore told The Hunter River Times.

Moore’s previous highest tally was 78 for the Upper Hunter in a representative match against Cessnock.

Half a decade on, this afternoon proved much more special as teammate Jake Teague 103no.

“I went out after drinks, I was on about 96 and got dropped a few times,” Moore added.

“Then converted it over to 100 and let loose from there.”

MEANWHILE the Bulls secured the UHDCA minor premiership last week after finishing on top of the table ahead of runner up Rouchel, Belltrees and Brook Silver.
