Upper Hunter Powers through 2020

Grant Jupe, Principal of Raine & Horne Muswellbrook, explained there are a combination of factors driving population and property value growth in Muswellbrook. These include Muswellbrook’s robust economy, the introduction of the Federal Government’s $25,000 Home Builder Scheme and the town’s attractive real estate affordability, investment yields and vacancy rates.

Mr Jupe continued, “Our low unemployment means many renters are starting to make the exciting leap into the first home market, which is driving up activity and values.”

Now with more properties hitting the market, buyers who have been searching for their dream first home, or perfect addition to their investment portfolio have had plenty properties to pick from and we have definitely seen this being reflected in the amount of properties being sold. We have also seen houses that have only just hit the market being snapped up within a few weeks or even days.

According to an article published in the Daily Mail, experts predict that Muswellbrook is set to face “an unprecedented 21.6 per cent rise in its population.”

“Over the past few months many workers in the cities have discovered they can work from home, and therefore can move to regional centres such as Muswellbrook and take advantage of our real estate affordability. This intrastate migration will continue to fuel the predicted population growth for our town.”
