Lili Robinson will open August Bloom next week, fulfilling a dream she has had for a very long time.

It is a big decision at just 22, almost 23 years of age, especially with covid looming around but it has been a dream she has had since her year 10 work experience.

“I was thinking I might venture into personal training or physiotherapy and really didn’t know what I wanted to do,” Lili said.

Two weeks of work experience, part time work and then a traineeship offer at WOW Flowers helped her make that career choice.  From there she was worked at other locations but always had the dream of having her own business.

Covid gave her the opportunity to do a business course and now with that complete, she is on her way.

She was accepted into primary school teaching at university but by then, the passion for the florist industry had struck.

“You are a part of the important milestones in people’s lives, from the births, to the birthdays, engagements and marriages and even those sad times, it is a real privilege,” Lili said.

Her shop will open at the former Grainery restaurant site in Singleton’s Bourke’s Arcade and along with a beautiful stock of fresh flowers, Lili plans to also sell dried flowers, giftware including some locally made items such as macramé and her own dried flower pieces.

Lili particularly wanted to thank Sheree Klasen who she said had been a strong mentor to help her establish her business.
