Keeping the cupboards stocked
Godolphin and Westpac bank have but their support behind the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre for their services in the community.
Demand for support from the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre has been on and off during COVID-19, but manager Lee Watts is still focused on making sure everyone gets what they need.
“I don’t know that it (demand) has increased that much, but it is an ongoing commitment that we have given to our community so we make sure it is always stocked for them,” she said.
“Our pantry is pretty well stocked at the moment thanks to the community, but as quick as it comes in it goes out as well so when we can add those extra things in and those bigger items we can put them in the pantry ready to go.”
Recent donations from Godolphin and Westpac Scone and Muswellbrook branches have provided a much needed boost to both the community pantry and the Morning Bites service, which offers free breakfast to students on their way to school.
Monique Brown from Westpac Scone said they are always looking for ways to support important services in the community.
“We are just getting out in the community, trying to help people or community resources to get them up and running especially during COVID-19,” she said.
The financial support from Godolphin and Westpac will complement the community donations to The Pantry and Morning Bites program, allowing them to stock up on meats and fresh produce as families and individuals need them.
