FIRDAY, MAY 7

Ballot draw for position on ballot paper conducted at the Singleton early voting centre.

Aberdeen’s Kirsty O’Connell had her name drawn first and will appear at the top of the ballot paper.

Following after O’Connell in order of the draw are Archie Lea (Ind), Eva Pears (Liberal Democratic Party), Dale McNamara (One Nation), Dave Layzell (Nationals), Tracy Norman (Ind), Steve Reynolds (Ind), Sue Abbott (Greens), Jeff Drayton (Labor), Calum Blair (Sustainable Australia Party), Michael Dello-Jacovo (Animal Justice Party from Annandale in Sydney), Sue Gilroy (Shooters, Fishers and Farmers) and Kate Fraser (Ind).

SATURDAY, MAY 8

Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull visits Aberdeen where he endorses Independent candidate Kirsty O’Connell in her campaign.  Mr Turnbull urged voters to back O’Connell saying the Nationals had taken the community for granted.

MONDAY, MAY 10

Early voting begun in Singleton, Muswellbrook, Scone and Gloucester.

Nationals Dave Layzell announces $12million for Singleton Police Station Upgrade.

Labor’s Jeff Drayton announces they will fast track promised upgrades at Muswellbrook South Public School.

National’s Dave Layzell announces $45 million for stage three upgrade to Muswellbrook Hospital.

Independent Steve Reynolds kicks off his campaign speaking with community members wanting to raise the issues of the Upper Hunter.

TUESDAY, MAY 11

Labor’s Jeff Drayton claims Nationals intend to sell off crown land to make way for housing including places such as public parks and Gloucester cemetery.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 12

One Nation’s Dale McNamara visits Quirindi train station forecourt to announce One Nation’s plan to establish a daily return commuter train service from Tamworth to Newcastle, funding for the Council pool, and completion of a new water treatment plant.

Independent candidate Kirsty O’Connell voices her delight at the proposed spending spree in store for the Upper Hunter and encourages voters to look at an independent to keep it coming.

Labor’s Jeff Drayton announces $750,000 for Singleton’s fire station upgrade and a new fleet of trucks.

TUESDAY, MAY 18

One Nation’s Dale McNamara announces plans to establish an Advanced Training Centre at Aberdeen to train young people and retrain older workers to go into mining, manufacturing and agriculture based on polytechnic technology.

Labor’s Jeff Drayton calls for an extension to the two more trains trial between Singleton and Muswellbrook to be extended.

Deputy Premier John Barilaro, National’s Dave Layzell and Sam Farraway MLC return to Merriwa five days after meeting in Sydney for a public meeting at the Merriwa RSL to discuss the proposed transmission line corridor.
