Vesper continues hot form

Singleton golfer Jasmine Vesper has had a weekend to remember.

Last month the talented teenager claimed the Hunter River District Ladies Golf Association’s Northern Cup, District Open Championship and Ladies Union Open Championship for 2021.

“The HRDLGA is an elected committee, whose committee members are nominated to represent their own clubs on a district level (generally one representative from each club is on the HRDLGA committee),” Vesper explained.

“They also convene district level tournaments throughout the year.

Prior to this year, Vesper had only claimed a foursome title in 2019. This time, she claimed the triple.

“The highlight of the tournament for me personally wasn’t just winning all the trophies and doing the hunter proud,” she continued.

“There is obviously no better feeling than winning but to get see my name amongst those other women who have been playing this event since 1935 really made me appreciate all the hard work and dedication these women put in to make an event as good as this one.

“Especially Melita (Watson) and Helen (Rimel) for always supporting me and showing me the way through all of this and being awesome tournament organisers

Vesper will now shift her focus to next week’s NSW State Age Junior Golf Championships at Byron Bay and Ocean Shores (Tuesday, July 6).
