Bengalla Cup victory for Weir

Singleton jockey Mikayla Weir celebrated a Bengalla Cup win on Cecilia (NZ) for local trainer Aleacia Bennett.
Weir held off Don’tforgetmonica ridden by Dylan Gibbons for Scone trainer Cameron Crockett while Singleton jockey Aaron Bullock finished third on Think Free for Newcastle trainer Kris Lees.
MEANWHILE Muswellbrook trainer Jan Bowen won the NSW Jockeys Association BM78 over 1600m at Randwick with Casino Kid last week.
“Congratulations from the directors, management and staff of MRC, to our local trainer Ms Jan Bowen and Connections,” Muswellbrook Race Club’s general manager Trevor Taylor explained.
“The 5yr Bay Gelding was ridden by Sam Clipperton.”
