Origin debut for Nichols

Popular Group 21 referee Barry Nichols ticked another item off his bucket list last week.
He officiated all three Men’s Over 60s games at the State of Origin Touch Football series held at Coffs Harbour last week.
NSW won the series with early 6-5 and 6-5 wins before the visitors prevailed 5-4 in the final clash on Saturday.
Nichols was one of eight referees from the Hunter Hornets region present at the event.
The weekend added to his 500+ games as a referee which includes 27 World Cup games.
Unsurprisingly, he managed to return in time for Sunday’s Group 21 fixture at Scone Park.
