It’s Another Huge Win for Muswellbrook Chamber
Muswellbrook Chamber of Commerce and Industry was again the winner of the ‘Outstanding Local Chamber’ award at this year’s Hunter Business Awards.
It is the second consecutive year the Chamber has taken out the prestigious award with Business Singleton also recognized, taking out highly commended in the category.
Business HunterPresident Tony Rhodes congratulated all winners and finalists on their determination, commitment and entrepreneurship in what has been another challenging year for business owners and operators.
“Winning a Hunter Business Award in any year is a significant achievement and we must recognise the real challenges many businesses have faced over the last two years. For the Awards to attract so many quality entries was a real delight and surprise and a gauge on confidence for the prospects of the region looking ahead,” Mr Rhodes said.
Muswellbrook Chamber president Mike Kelly said the win reflected the resilience and collaboration in the Muswellbrook business community.
“On one hand, this award is a recognition of the Chamber Board and Executive for their hard work in running the Chamber’s programs and activities but more importantly, it is a recognition of our 200 plus Muswellbrook Chamber Members who have collaborated through the Chamber to support each other and grow the Muswellbrook economy,” Mr Kelly said.
“Through the covid pandemic, the Chamber was able to provide support for severely impacted businesses with workshops, advice, mentoring services and promotions like ‘Locals supporting Locals’.
“These activities were sponsored by members who were not so severely affected. This is an expression of the strong sense of unity and collaboration which is so evident in the Muswellbrook Business Community.
“I acknowledged the significant contribution of our volunteer directors, our Member Services Manager Wayne Toms and the many sponsors who provide the funding to run Chamber programs.”
Aussie Ark took out the Small Business Award in recognition of their commitment to the long term future for Australian threatened wildlife. Aussie Arks Tim Faulkiner was highly commended in the Outstanding Business Leader category while Hayley Shute also brought accolades to Aussie Ark, taking out the Outstanding Employee category.
Highly commended recognition was won by Morgan Engineering for Employer of Choice, Steven Fordham from Blackrock Industries for Young Business Leader, and Leogate Estate Wines for Excellence in Export.
Winners at the Hunter Business Awards automatically qualify as a finalist in the Business NSW State Awards later this the year.
