Creeks and Valley/JPC continue to climb

There’s every chance Singleton clubs Creeks and Valley/JPC will be playing off for top spot of the Coalfields Cup table when they meet in Round 7.

The reigning SDCA first grade premier celebrated a 91-run victory against Glendon on Saturday thanks to a strong opening innings from opening batsman Clinton Harman (74 runs off 103) and representative talent Nathan Stapleford (38 runs off 25).

Creeks spiritual leader Dan Tracey then finished with 4/6 to seal the victory.

Valley/JPC, who have merged in the Coalfields Cup, also proved too classy for the reigning CDCA premier Greta Branxton when celebrating a 94-run win at Miller Park.

Isaac Barry made headline son Saturday, scoring a total of nine sixes to finish with 106no off of 63 while new recruit Mewaram Jeetarwal also stood tall with 59no off of 42. JPC’s Luke Dempster finished with 3/29.

Wine Country and inaugural Coalfields Cup winner Bellbird also celebrated victories.
