The countdown is on until the inaugural Bush to Beach AFL carnival.

Singleton Roosterettes’ coach Nadene McBride has confirmed the addition of the Warners Bay Bulldogs to the highly anticipated pre-season carnival, extending the fixture to seven matches.

Singleton will play against Muswellbrook in the opening game before taking on fellow Black Diamond Cup side Maitland in Game Four.

The home side will be without 2020 premiership captain Tori Cowburn, Hunter representative Kustiani Tuckerman as well as Sarah Dunn and Tayla Gall.

Nevertheless McBride admits she is looking forward to seeing new recruits Kira-lee Tyrrell, Kelsey Muller, Tori Cochrane, Torryn Upward and Laura Salter don the club colours for the first time.

“We are excited to see how they fit into our team,” McBride explained.

“We are also hoping a few under-17s can come mix it with us.”

MEANWHILE Singleton and Muswellbrook’s men’s sides will then playoff for the annual Nathan Duncan Shield after the tournament.

The AFL Hunter Central Coast season is then scheduled to commence on Saturday, April 1.
