Young Gums Youth Mentorship is Back for 2023 Gum Ball

The Gum Ball’s Young Gums Youth Mentorship is now open, bringing a strong pathway for up and coming artists.

‘Young Gums’ is an incredible opportunity for young creatives looking to get an insight into the music and events industry.

An immersive mentorship program now in its third year, is led by the good people at Dashville and supported by The Gum Ball’s professional and creative community of musicians, artists, technicians and event managers.

After its success in 2021 and 2022, the team from Dashville will continue the program in 2023, which is dedicated specifically to high school students aged between 14 to 18 interested in a hands-on learning experience in a live festival environment over five days.

The students need to be able to attend the Gum Ball music and arts festival, located at Dashville, near Singleton and the project runs from Wednesday, April 19 until Sunday April 23.

Over the course of the five days, the students will engage with a range of qualified music professional from musicians to lighting technicians, from set up to showtime, through a series of workshops, tutoring and one-on-one mentoring.

With The Gum Ball in full swing from the Friday through to Sunday, the selected youth aka ‘Young Gum’s’ will get an exciting immersive experience, discovering first-hand what it takes to put on a live music event and to be the performer.

A parent or guardian is required to stay the five (5) days and nights to supervise their Young Gum while not attending workshops.

The program covers each teen’s full mentorship, camping and use of amenities, most food and a welcome dinner for all Young Gums and their guardians on the Wednesday.

The cost of parents attending the festival is not covered in the program however discounted tickets for parents/ guardians will be available for those selected youths.
