Richardson shares his advice for the next generation

Bullfighter Eric Richardson is no stranger to the Singleton Rodeo.
The 24-year-old was a regular competitor as a teenager, having ridden bulls, poddy calves and steers from the tender age of eight.
Now he makes his Singleton Rodeo debut in the second leg of his career, this time as a protection athlete.
“Since I started bull fighting the last three years I haven’t been able to do a Singleton one because they have all been cancelled or I have had other stuff on,” Richardson told The Hunter River Times.
“So, this will be my first one.”
Eric still recalls winning the open bull ride, defeating Casey Crawley before a packed grandstand in 2019.
He has followed his older brothers’ footsteps when getting on the Bounty Bull for the Cancer Council. Only one year earlier, his brother Cliff donated the $5000 winnings back to McGrath Foundation.
Eric also kept his tips simple when asked to share his advice for the next generation of participants.
“Do your job and have fun,” he explained.
“It is a great crowd to compete in front of.”
He will be joined by fellow bullfighter Corey Duncan.
