Crows Flock to Diesel, Dust and Rust at Denman

It was another great day in Denman for the Motors and Markets event held last month.

Organiser of the Diesel, Dust and Rust Truck and Machinery Show Wayne Turnbull said he knew the weather wouldn’t be an issue, despite the threat of rain.

“I reckon we were about 60 per cent up on public, which is really good.  Everyone loved it, I’ve got no negative feedback from it,” he shared.

The display numbers were up as well, with Wayne’s hope of getting 200 machines on display surpassed with a range of trucks, cars and bikes from various years out enjoying the day.

The markets in the main street were well supported as well as were local businesses, with one publican telling Wayne they made almost as much on that day’s trade as they did during the Denman Wine and Food Affair.

Another beneficiary from the event was the Denman Hospital Auxiliary, with almost $800 being donated to them from a raffle run throughout the day.

Organisers are already looking at what they will do next year to build on the event, with it anticipated that the Denman and District Historical Village museum will be open just adding to the atmosphere.
