Rust and Dust Show Returns to Denman

What has quickly become a popular event in the Upper Hunter calendar is preparing for its third consecutive year next month.

The Diesel Rust and Dust Truck and Machinery Show will take over the Old Football Grounds in Denman on April 20 and there will be some exciting new additions to this year’s program.

“This year we are going to have some motorcycle demonstrations, trials bikes over pallets and cars and whatever they have got to ride over thanks to Denman Motorcycle Club,” event organiser Wayne Turnbull shared.

“We had a couple of mini crawler trucks and dozer things there last year, this year we might pen an area off out the back and let the owners drive them around to demonstrate how these machines used to operate.”

These new additions will run alongside the displays of trucks, cars, bikes, and a variety of machinery big and small.

Ogilvie Street will be closed temporarily for the 9am parade and will reopen once all the vehicles have passed by, with markets set up near the basketball stadium this year.

Live music, free kids activities, plenty of food options and more will round out the day, which will run from 10am to 4.30pm.

Denman and District Heritage Village Museum and the Denman Men’s Shed are supporting the day and will be open.

Entry is $5 per person, including those displaying, with kids under 16 getting in for free and all the proceeds will be split between the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Black Dog Institute.

A raffle will run on the day and proceeds from that will be go towards local causes.
